Hangout Casino and Resort is now open.

The inaugural Hangout Hold 'Em tournament will be held next Sunday, July 19, 2020 at 1:00 US Eastern (GMT-4).

The game is Texas Hold 'Em. For those that would like to participate, but are not familiar with the rules of this poker game, you can brush up via this link: https://www.instructables.com/id/Learn-To-Play-Poker---Texas-Hold-Em-aka-Texas-Ho/

The buy-in will be 64 diamonds and participants will not be permitted to reload (buy additional chips once you've run out). Up to eight participants may play any given round. If more than 8 people are interested, a second time can be arranged.

Prizes will be awarded to the first, second, and third place finishers in the amounts of 60%, 30%, and 10% of the total pot. It is highly recommended that you join voice chat in the discord server if you want to play, as it makes communication much simpler.

Please let me know if you are interested in joining this community event. Also, if others would prefer a different time or higher or lower stakes games, I'd be interested in hearing that as well.

DIRECTIONS:

Hangout Casino and Resort is located in scenic -1770, 4870. The quickest method of travel is via nether tunnel. From spawn island, take the south portal.

Head down into the castle and into the nether.

In the nether, look to the purple line of tracks directed to MT_Headed's.

Upon reaching the end of the line, follow the signs to Hangout Casino.

The poker room is on the lower level, guarded by a bouncer. Only those with a password will be permitted entry. GOOD LUCK AND GOD SPEED.
 
Very cool, look forward to seeing how it works! Will try and be there on Sat. I am not a big poker player however, so if there is a lot of interest, I will gladly let another play. Are spectators allowed?

Wow, you did it! This server is becoming a gambling den ;) 64 diamonds? I rarely get that in a whole season

Good luck to the House, there are some serious gamblers here :p

If you'd prefer to spectate, you're still definitely welcome (the bouncer/password thing is just a gag I'm working on).
 
By popular demand (and after checking my wallet), the entry fee for this tournament is lowered to 16 diamonds. I don't want the money to stand in the way of a fun event, so if you are not comfortable with spending your hard-earned diamonds, just let me know and we can work something out.
 
One more thing. If you are not familiar with the rules, I posted a link to the rules in the original post. I will also be hosting a tutorial 30 minutes prior to the start of the tournament if you just want a little practice to see how everything works.
