Years ago I saw an auto sorter (Im sure it was the old school loaded hopper, single item filter type) ... BUT ... it not only put away the items, but also had a "request" chest that when you put in a single item of a type, it would return a stack of that item back to you out of the storage. Thats what I want!

That's amazing! I'm often scared off of even attempting a complex sorter, when in reality, I end up using even more time by hunting time and again through all my chests for whatever I need.
