I don't think I've ever posted about my builds, but this one seems deserving. This is the biggest, most complicated, and most resource intensive creation I've ever built. It became a bigger project than I'd anticipated - what I figured would be a week took over a month to complete. While some may say I'm showing off (you know who you are!), it's not part of my personality to draw attention to myself. I had a simple idea for a cool desert project that became 300x bigger than I'd imagined. I mean who knew it would be so much harder than building square houses! (Trump reference)
After doing some research and preliminary ideas, I actually decided to abandon the complicated design and do something simple. I'd shown my wife some of it, and when I told her I was going to change it because it was so hard, she said "c'mon now - you know you can build that, don't you want a challenge?" So some credit goes to her,it wouldn't be what it is without her chiding me. She also helped a lot with opinions and suggestions on the interior design - I'm sure she's as sick of looking at it as I am! There is one tomb she doesn't like at all, but I had spent a long time on it (stupid glazed terracotta grrr) and didn't want to change it. So of course that room is dedicated to her!
Thank you also goes out to Tigger, Gem and Mothership for helping with some of the details. EZ was gracious enough to allow me to tear down his portal build to make my idea a reality. He's responsible for the minecart setup through the portal - I wanted no part in building any more cart systems!
If you do stop by, take a minute to head outside and see the front in person. If you think it looks big on the map, wait until you're standing in front of it. When you come through the teleport the exits are in front of you to the right and left. There's a blue marker on the floor in front of them. Check out the excavated tombs in the front when you come back in, and there's two in the back (one of them is intentionally unfinished).
I'm pleased with the final result, even if it is a bit of an overkill for a teleport station. Some of you may have stopped by previously - so the only new things will be the tombs. I'm not looking for praise, I just want people to see the final build as I envisioned it!
