I ran around singing this at work for a week, went on my three day weekend thinking i finally got it out of my head only to come back and everyone else was singing it.
Better off AloneOh, I get songs stuck in my brain all the time. The most recent include these variable gems and germs:
I've no idea why this one has been buzzing around my head in the last day or two. Before looking it up I hadn't heard it at all since the 1990s, and I didn't like it much the first time around. There was good club trance, but this wasn't it.
Well, it's Cardiacs. Listener discretion is advised. For the uninitiated, they're best described as the Descendents and Devo brawling on stage of a The Who show, but even that doesn't come close. Manic stuff that creeps out in manic moments.
I can blame the parents for this one. It was playing in their car a few weeks ago, and it's been the soundtrack of my own trips fairly regularly since. It's not exactly a thumping road-trip anthem, but I do most of my driving after midnight.
I mean, who doesn't want to listen to an ancient piece that's performed in a language that's been dead for thousands of years, that itself is talking about the distant past? Over and over and over and over again. Send help. Please.
Ah, I remember both of those. I was always more into stuff like Faithless and Energy 52 at the time, but I'd listen to anything with a driving beat! I've got a whole playlist of nostalgia electronic tracks on Plug.dj that I spin through from time to time.Better off AloneI haven't thought of that one for years! I remember the cool kids playing that at the back of the bus on the way to school. Along with such classics as Turn Around by Phats & Small and Sweet Like Chocolate

The only way to eliminate a song stuck in your head (or stop your from murdering your partner from singing one) is to put a different one in!

From NY Times morning briefing: Sorry, parents: “Baby Shark,” the infectious children’s song, debuted on the Billboard Hot 100 this week. Its creator, a South Korean educational brand called Pinkfong, now has as many Top 40 hits as Jimi Hendrix. Doo doo doo doo doo doo.
